Abundantly Blessed

I attended Stake Auxiliary training last night and as I was listening to Pres. Markovitz I began to reflect on how blessed I am.  I have a fabulous husband who puts up with a lot of my garbage, who has taken over so many of the house duties so when I come home from work I can relax, and especially who honors his priesthood.  I have 4 awesome children who, although they can't keep a bedroom clean, all have strong testimonies of the Lord Jesus Christ.
A few weeks ago, Gary, Tyler, Allie, Michelle, Alex, Parker and I all went to the Temple.  The intent was that Gary and I would take care of Parker while Michelle and Alex did a session then they would take the kids home and Gary and I would go do a session.  It turned out that wouldn't work with timing and so forth so Gary, Michelle and Alex did the session and I took the kids.  We first went to Boyd's bookstore where they have a pond with ducks and turtles in front.  We sat on the grass and Parker watched as Tyler and Allie fed the ducks and geese.  Parker loved it.  He tried to reach too far forward for the geese and he rolled forward down the hill a bit.  I thought it was funny but he was a tad offended.  After we ran out of bread and Parker was tired and ready for a nap, we went into Boyd's where it was a little cooler.  The soft music helped to put Parker right to sleep.  In that quiet moment I noticed that Tyler and Allie were talking to each other in whisper voices.  It dawned on me that 1, although we were in a store the kids could feel and recognize the Spirit there and chose to respect that by whispering.  It did my heart good to know that they could recognize the Spirit.
Two weeks ago our family was greatly blessed with the opportunity to spend some intimate time with an apostle of the Lord.  Elder Bednar was here for our Stake conference and because of Gary's calling we were able to have dinner on Saturday night and Lunch (kids included this time) on Sunday after the session, with Elder Bednar and Elder Cornish, of the seventy.  What a choice opportunity this was.  We gained insight and additional instruction that was priceless.  When I asked Elder Bednar to explain the difference between bearing testimony and bearing witness he looked me in the eye and said "It's my job".  The Spirit then confirmed what I already knew but am grateful for further confirmation none the less.  As we listened to General Conference the past weekend, we listened more intently to not only what was said but HOW it was said too.  Elder Bednar had given us the parable of the 'agents or objects'.  Agents will be proactive and pray for guidance, assistance, and strength to take care of whatever the situation is.  Objects pray that things just will happen, or that someone else will take care of whatever.  It was very eyeopening.  He challenged us to read the book of Mormon and look for examples of where the Lord strengthened his people.  While doing this I have been able to see examples of Agents and Objects too.  Nephi was an incredible example of an Agent asking in faith as needed as opposed to Laman and Lemuel who were Objects, demanding full reveal before moving.  They wanted the hard work done for them.
   My heart is full.
